I am at MATC, because after many years of working the same mundane jobs, I felt it was time for a change. I've worked for North-shore Security and Sounds in Evanston IL. a suburbs of my home town Chicago IL, installing and servicing security systems and surround sound systems. This was an exciting job where I first learned the basics of IT. Unfortunately the company was bought out by a bigger company and moved to another location. moved. I then moved to Milwaukee WI. where I landed a job with AT&T installing Uverse. Running cat5 crimping RJ 45's, setting up WiFi, setting up email accounts for the customer, connecting their system to the router etc...
I was let go in March of 2011 due to a work related injury to my neck which required a cervical fusion. I then decided to go to school, it had been over twenty years since I last attended school. I chose MATC because of it's excellent classes, close proximity to me. I chose the IT Network Specialist Program because of my previous experience. I hope to learn and excel in this field. Computers obviously are here to stay and some one needs to install and service them.
